Parksville-Qualicum candidate forum: affordable housing

Oceanside News organized a Zoom forum which gave the local candidates an opportunity to share their ideas and party platform on a variety of issues relevant to the Parksville-Qualicum area. The forum began with ideas on how to make housing more affordable.

Parksville fire department food and toy drive will look different this year

The Parksville Volunteer Fire Department food and toy drive will look very different this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There will be no door-to-door collection, but firefighters will be taking cash donations for the Salvation Army food bank at several yet-to-be-announced locations on Nov. 14 and 15.

Parksville council votes to provide a new childcare facility

Parksville could be getting a new licensed childcare facility next year, if funding is successful. Council unanimously approved a resolution to work with the Boys and Girls Club of Central Vancouver Island (BGCCVI) to provide a new licensed childcare facility and other associated child, youth and parent programming in the city.
